Swallowing Stones Book Review

Review on Swallowing Stones
by: Kaileigh Bennett

Have you ever done something bad and you couldn’t tell anyone what you had done? Well, in the book Swallowing Stones by Joyce Mcdonald a teen and his best friend get caught in a sticky situation.
On July fourth, Michael Mackenzie and his best friend Joe S. fired his rifle and it accidentally shot a man, named Charlie Ward. He lived a couple of blocks away from him. Michael and his friend Joe lied and lied to everyone so they wouldn’t get in trouble with the cops.
My favorite part was when Michael finally had to make a life changing decision.Eventually, the lies came back as a stone; every time he lied another stone added and subtracted from the truth.
I personally liked the book because I like mystery books. Swallowing Stones is a good example of doing something you don’t own up and how it can affect your life forever.
